Deputy PM: Russia can dismantle most dangerous mines
MOSCOW, Apr 8 (PRIME) -- Russian authorities will probably order that the most dangerous mines be dismantled but no rapid-fire steps will be made, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said at a meeting with Energy Ministry officials on Friday.
“Maybe we will have to go to the length of shutting some most dangerous mines, blocks and this can lead to certain changes in the structure of production and consumption," Dvorkovich said."But these actions will be taken only after a detailed analysis, assessment of all consequences, understanding of all social nuances and a balance of the production and consumption in the country in general and across the industries.”
In February, the Severnaya mine operated by Severstal’s unit Vorkutaugol was hit by a series of explosions killing 36 people.
